by Pavithra on Stone Town Tour

The walking tour in and around Stone Town was excellent. Our guide Mohammed was very knowledgeable and knew the stories and history of all of Zanzibars sites. He picked us up at our hotel and as we were the only ones scheduled for the tour he was able to tailor it to or needs. I have 9 family members that will be visiting Dar and Zanzibar from the states and I will be booking the Stone Town Walking Tour in Zanzibar for them with Mohammed as their guide. If youre spending more than one day in Stone Town, I recommend going on the tour your first day if possible. That way if you see any little restaurants, boutiques, shops etc. that you like youll have time to return.

I had an amazing experience with Colors of Zanzibar, starting from the initial communication we had three months before my vacation began. The people I emailed were very courteous and made every arrangement possible for me to experience and enjoy both these tours.

The day of the tour I arrived at my hotel and was greeted by Mohammed while I was in the waiting area. We had a very good chat with the driver as well on our way to the Spice farm. Mohammed told me all about historical places we were passing by. At the spice farm I was quizzed about what the spice could possibly be, and was fascinated by all the things I learned there. We also had a locally prepared lunch, tasted some of the fresh fruit and made our way back to the city. Since it was pretty hot and was the middle of the afternoon, Mohammed gave me the option of resting in the hotel and meeting him later in the evening for the walking tour.

He came back to the hotel and picked me up around 4 PM, and we walked around Stone Town for a good three hours! I got to visit the Slave Museum (it can get overwhelming reading about the history of slavery). We also walked by Freddy Mercury House, visited a jewelry store to ogle at some Tanzanites, and also went to some local shops where I was able to buy some souvenirs. I also really wanted to get some sugarcane juice, and Mohammed was nice enough to get me some at the end of our tour.

Overall I had a great last day of vacation, and I'm so glad I chose Colors of Zanzibar!

by Stephan on Matemwe Village Tour

We did the Matemwe village tour and it was wonderful❤

by Frances on Fruit and Spice Tour

We used Colors of Zanzibar in June 2017 and were delighted to use their services again for our July Zanzibar trip. This year we did the Spice Farm tour and a Nungwi village tour. We were also transported from our hotel in Zanzibar to Nungwi and Nungwi to the airport a week later. Each vehicle was immaculate and air conditioned. The drivers were always accommodating and happily detoured for a bank or to pick up a piece of luggage. Highly recommend.

by Chloe on Stone Town Tour

My friend and I visited Stone Town and wanted to get the lay of the land. Colors of Zanzibar came up as a highly recommended tour company and we wholeheartedly agreed. Our tour guide Mohammed was incredibly knowledgeable and wonderfully personable and funny, which made our historic tour of Stone Town really enjoyable. When we finished, we booked another tour with Mohammed for the next day, which was a tour that incorporated snorkeling, which was also very enjoyable. If you visit Stone Town and are interested in tours of the area, this is the company for you!

Our tour guide Mohammed was very knowledgeable and great. Took us around stone town patiently explaining the history. Mohammed went beyond his scheduled time and took us around the night food stalls.. excellent and I highly recommend Colors of Zanzibar
