Open position: General Manager
We are a tour operator company specializing in sustainable tourism. Our office is located in the Mlandege district in Zanzibar City. We are looking for a general manager to join our team for a permanent, full-time position. Colors of Zanzibar was established in 2011 and has a stable presence in Zanzibar. You would work with a local team and report directly to the Managing Director.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of office staff, guides and drivers
- Manage the everyday operation of the business
- Drive the development of employees
- Ensure the quality of sustainable tourism services
- FIT/B2B communications
- Preparations of itinerary and hosting trips/tour leading
- Maintaining a good relationship with all partners
- Finding new opportunities and partnerships
- Working with different booking platforms
- Customer experience and product development
- Participating in the preparation of newsletters and handling social media platforms
- Sales of tours and excursions, safari and hotels bookings
Qualifications
- Passion for Zanzibar, Tanzania, and sustainable tourism
- Management and customer service experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead
- Strong communications skills
- Relevant education or long experience in the field
- Experience in tourism or other relevant business fields
- Professional fluency in English, fluent/native Swahili as big plus (Russian, German, French, and any other language skills are very appreciated)
