ABOUT SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK & THE NGORONGORO CRATER
This is your chance
to see the “Big Five”
in their natural habitat
Covering nearly 15,000 km2, Serengeti National Park is one of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet. It’s also famously the site of the “Great Migration,” a unique phenomenon during which millions of animals migrate annually.
In addition to the Great Migration, the Serengeti is home to the “big five” of Africa that every safari-goer dreams of seeing: lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalo, and elephants. Its diverse wildlife and birdlife make it a popular tourist attraction.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is a protected area located 180 km west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania. It’s home to the famous Ngorongoro Crater — the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.
Formed about 2-3 million years ago, the crater is a stunning natural formation, with a spectacular view from the rim. The crater is home to a vast array of wildlife, a designated UNESCO World Heritage site, and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Tanzania.
You’ll arrive at Kilimanjaro airport in the early morning. There you’ll meet your driver-guide who’ll take you for a safari ride over to Serengeti National Park.
You’ll have dinner and spend the night at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge.
After breakfast, you’ll have a full-day game drive in Serengeti, the “endless plain of Africa.”
It is rightly one of the best-known game parks in the world, offering a wide array of wildlife and some spectacular scenery. We’ll be on the lookout for the “Big Five.”
The ride ends at sunset when we’ll drive you back to the lodge for dinner.
We’ll explore the Serengeti Plains that support about 2 million migratory wildlife species of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem and the Catchment Forest.
We’ll also visit the Northern Highland Forest Reserve known as “Entim Olturot” in the Maa language.
In the afternoon, we’ll head towards Ngorongoro and spend the night at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.
On the last day, we’ll explore the Ngorongoro Crater, the so-called “eighth wonder of the world.”
We’ll descend into the crater in the early morning and have a picnic lunch there. You’ll have a chance to explore the remarkable concentration of wildlife and stunning landscapes.
In the afternoon we’ll head to the Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight back to Zanzibar.
