Visit Misali Island, Famous for Its Coral Reefs and Stunning Nature

Misali Island boasts some of the most breathtaking coral reefs in East Africa. Depending on the time of the year, you can also find turtles nesting on this protected island. On this tour, you’ll get to spend a full day on Misali Island and explore its amazing nature, snorkel around the surrounding coral reefs, see green and hawksbill turtles in their natural habitat, and follow in the tracks of vervet monkeys, coconut crabs, and other animals.

The best snorkeling

experience in Zanzibar

Misali Island offers swimming on idyllic virgin beaches and hiking on amazing nature trails. You’ll start the excursion by taking an hour-long boat ride from the coast of Chake Chake to Misali Island, the most famous diving and snorkeling place in Zanzibar.

Misali’s real treasure lies in its rich ecosystem, which boasts 42 types of corals, over 300 species of fish, a rare subspecies of vervet monkeys, rarely seen coconut crabs, and a nesting site for green and hawksbill turtles.

Snorkeling on Misali Island is simply breathtaking! Even close to the beach, it’s possible to see bigger species of fish. The beach can get quite steep in some places, causing the sand to change colors.
